The so-called “Ozempic Face”—a term popularized to describe the aesthetic side effects associated with GLP-1 medications—has now gained a new and, arguably, more anatomical counterpart: “Ozempic Butt.” The phenomenon has become a growing topic of discussion among physicians, dermatology clinics, and fitness specialists, raising awareness about how rapid and significant weight loss can affect both body aesthetics and overall health.
The most common concern reported by patients using these medications is the loss of volume and skin firmness. According to Dr. Ubajara Guazzelli, plastic surgeon at JK Estética Avançada, this occurs because the body’s fat pads—structures responsible for supporting and maintaining skin volume—are significantly reduced.
"When we lose fat too quickly, we also lose volume and, consequently, structural support. The skin cannot adapt at the same pace, resulting in a deflated or sagging appearance, particularly in the gluteal area," explains Dr. Guazzelli.
